Obama Rebukes Trump Over False Tylenol-Autism Claims

Donald Trump recently claimed that using Tylenol during pregnancy may increase the risk of autism, despite the World Health Organization (WHO) stating there is no conclusive scientific evidence for such a link. He suggested expectant mothers should avoid Tylenol unless absolutely necessary.

Former President Barack Obama criticized Trump’s remarks during a talk in London, saying such statements harm public health, create fear among pregnant women, and spread misinformation about autism. He stressed that rising autism diagnoses are often due to broader diagnostic criteria, not actual increases.

Tylenol’s manufacturer responded, calling the medicine one of the most studied in history and safe when used as directed. They emphasized that untreated high fever and pain can pose real risks during pregnancy.
