Many people would be shocked to learn that Henry Winkler and his wife hardly ever saw each other again after their initial encounter in a garment store despite having three children and a devoted 44-year marriage.<\/p>\n

Henry Winkler\u2019s portrayal of Arthur Fonzarelli on \u201cHappy Days\u201d is probably his most well-known performance, but he also deserves praise for his loving marriage to Stacey. It\u2019s difficult to believe that the two almost didn\u2019t go on their first date.<\/p>\n

Due to the classic parts that the actor has played during his lengthy career, Henry Winkler is a name that the majority of people are familiar with. Winkler is best known for playing Arthur \u201cFonzie\u201d Fonzarelli in the television series \u201cHappy Days,\u201d a part that continues to be heavily cited in modern society.<\/p>\n

When Stacey and Henry first met, the respective public relations specialist and actor were in a clothes store that Stacey\u2019s agency worked with. Henry enlisted Stacey\u2019s assistance while trying to get a sport coat, and the rest is history.<\/p>\n

Henry recalled their initial encounter: \u201cShe was wearing purple parachute trousers and had red hair, and I didn\u2019t even hear her say a word before I thought, \u2018Woah, beautiful woman standing in front of me.’\u201d The following week, when I returned to the shop, she was still there. And in just ten minutes, I discovered just how resilient she is.<\/p>\n

A week later, when Henry went back to the same store to get his coat, Stacey almost declined his invitation to go on a date. She eventually accepted, of course, and before they knew it, they were dating.<\/p>\n

Stacey and her son, who was four at the time, went beyond courting and moved in with Henry right before the couple decided to get married in 1978.<\/p>\n

The pair had to start negotiating Henry\u2019s rising celebrity after getting married in the same Manhattan synagogue where Winkler had his bar mitzvah. Stacey frequently had to deal with the overwhelming amount of female attention he started to get.<\/p>\n

Stacey revealed that even after the couple got married, women kept going up to their husband. Knowing that the attention was excellent for his profession, she said that she just had to learn to deal with it.<\/p>\n

People would literally step over my feet as they rushed up to Henry, she even said. You just absolutely wrecked my stockings, I exclaimed once. And this lady responded, \u201cBut I adore Fonzie!\u201d<\/p>\n

Female fans were not a major concern to the pair compared to upcoming challenges.<\/p>\n

In 1980, Henry and Stacey welcomed their daughters Zoey and Max, and they coexisted for many years with their offspring and careers.<\/p>\n

Max Daniel Winkler made the decision to follow in his father\u2019s footsteps in the entertainment industry and is now a writer, director, and producer for hit shows like \u201cNew Girl\u201d and \u201cCrazy Ex-Girlfriend,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n

However, the family\u2019s circumstances took a depressing turn in the late 1990s. After receiving a breast cancer diagnosis, Stacey had to deal with a brand-new problem.<\/p>\n

Stacey had remission very soon. This continued for some months until her disease, regrettably, came back in 2007. She underwent a double mastectomy at this time, and she has been cancer-free ever since.<\/p>\n
