A man came in late. Hoodie up, quiet. He sat at Table 6 and ordered only a coffee. Black. No cream, no sugar.
Didn\u2019t say much. Just nodded politely.<\/p>\n

When he left, I went to clear his table… and saw he\u2019d left a tip under the mug.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t money.<\/p>\n

It was a folded napkin<\/strong> with something scribbled on it.<\/p>\n

Curious, I picked it up and opened it, expecting a thank-you or maybe a number.
But instead, it read:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you’re reading this… it means you’re in danger. Don’t go home tonight.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

My pulse spiked<\/em>. I looked around\u2014nothing. Just the flicker of the kitchen light and the buzz of the neon sign.<\/p>\n

Was it a joke? A prank? But something in his eyes before he left\u2026 I couldn\u2019t shake it.<\/p>\n

I showed the napkin to the cook. He laughed it off.
