So today was my first day at a new job, and during lunch, I was sitting with a group of new coworkers. Everyone was chatting except one woman who was mostly quiet.<\/p>\n
Midway through, a guy walked in and handed her lunch. They looked a lot alike same features, same vibe so without thinking, I smiled and said, \u201cOh! Is that your brother?\u201d<\/p>\n
They both stared at me like I\u2019d grown a second head. Then they just walked away.<\/p>\n
The rest of the table burst into laughter, saying things like, \u201cI can\u2019t believe you asked that!\u201d and \u201cWait, who told you?!\u201d<\/p>\n
I was beyond confused. I explained that they looked so similar, I just assumed they were siblings.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when I was told: they are adopted siblings. And also married.<\/p>\n
I went pale.<\/p>\n
Apparently, they were raised together as siblings, but didn\u2019t find out they were both adopted until he was 11 and she was 14. Still, they grew up in the same house. And now they\u2019re married.<\/p>\n
I have no idea whether I should apologize or just never mention it again. I didn\u2019t mean any harm it was just a wild coincidence based on how much they look alike.<\/p>\n
