Around this time last year, in June 2021, I lost my 91-year-old great-grandmother. Her passing shattered me and pulled me into another bout of depression. But over time, I began to heal. Still, not a day goes by that I don\u2019t think about her\u2014our last conversation, the final time I saw her, the weight of her absence.<\/p>\n
Just a few minutes ago, something unexpected happened.<\/p>\n
I was tidying up my room, going through a plastic storage bin with three drawers\u2014where I keep personal items like letters, cards, and keepsakes. My radio sits on top of it, untouched. I opened the top drawer, the one filled with letters, and right there on top was an envelope. It held a birthday letter from both my grandmother and great-grandmother. But what struck me was what I saw on the back of the envelope\u2014something I hadn\u2019t noticed before.
