But rather than reacting impulsively, I decided to take action\u2014I arranged for, a surprise visit from Child Protective Services (CPS) the following morning.CPS spoke with my ex-husband, his wife, and my daughter, but ultimately determined there wasn\u2019t enough evidence to intervene further. My ex-husband was outraged, viewing my involvement with CPS as an extreme measure. To my surprise,<\/p>\n<p>my daughter also felt I had gone too far. Now, I\u2019m left questioning whether I did the right thing. While I don\u2019t regret trying to protect my daughter, I can\u2019t shake the feeling that I may have caused more stress for her. At the same time, I still believe it\u2019s deeply unfair for a teenager to be deprived of sleep to care for a baby who isn\u2019t her responsibility, especially when she has school the next day.MI\u2019m struggling to find a way to stand up for her without making things worse.
