For weeks, Donald Trump had taken aim at him from afar, calling him a communist and warning he would drain federal support from the city if Mamdani won. \u201cThis once-great city has zero chance of survival with a communist at the helm,\u201d Trump warned online. But Mamdani had no intention of shrinking under the pressure.<\/p>\n
When he spoke to the crowd on election night, he addressed Trump directly. But Trump wasn\u2019t the only one watching.<\/p>\n Rudy Giuliani\u2014once \u201cAmerica\u2019s Mayor,\u201d now newly pardoned and fiercely loyal to Trump\u2014delivered his own message.
