The old train station had been empty for years, or at least that\u2019s what everyone in town believed. Windows were cracked, paint peeled from the walls, and weeds pushed through the platform like they were reclaiming it.<\/p>\n

Mira didn\u2019t believe in abandoned places.<\/p>\n

One evening, just as the sky turned violet, she stepped onto the platform. The air felt different\u2014charged, like a held breath. She checked her watch. 6:17 p.m.<\/p>\n

A distant rumble broke the silence.<\/p>\n

For a second, she thought of her grandmother\u2019s kitchen, the smell of bread, the laughter she hadn\u2019t heard in years.<\/p>\n
