Astrid went on a family hike with her husband Ben, teenage daughter Penny, her mother-in-law Lori, and Lori’s new boyfriend Peter. During the hike, Peter repeatedly flirted with Astrid and made her uncomfortable.
Instead of confronting Peter, Lori accused Astrid of trying to seduce him because of what she was wearing and ordered her to turn back. Ben stayed silent, so Astrid went home humiliated.
At Lori’s birthday brunch the following week, Astrid calmly addressed what happened. She then played a recording from the hike in which Peter admitted he would ask Astrid out if Lori and Ben weren’t there.
Everyone realized Astrid had been telling the truth. Peter left, and Lori eventually apologized, admitting she had been jealous and insecure.
Ben also apologized for failing to defend his wife and began working to rebuild her trust.
In the end, Astrid stood up for herself, exposed the truth, set boundaries, and refused to feel ashamed for simply being herself.
