My SIL Hated Every Photo of Herself at Our Wedding & Demanded We Delete Them – But I Had a Better Idea

My sister-in-law Jenna complained about everything on our wedding day—the heat, her dress, her hair, and especially how she looked in photos.

My wife Nina had tried hard to include her, even making her a bridesmaid despite their difficult relationship. But Jenna barely smiled for the pictures, rolled her eyes, and seemed determined to make the day about herself.

Three weeks later, our wedding gallery arrived.

Nina was thrilled, until Jenna called.

She was furious.

“You let the photographer capture me looking like THIS?” she screamed. “Delete every photo I’m in. If you post even one, we’re done.”

Nina was devastated. She had only wanted her sister to feel included.

That night, after Nina fell asleep, I went through the entire gallery.

Then I did exactly what Jenna had demanded.

I cropped her out of every photo we planned to share.

The next day, Jenna called again—this time even angrier.

“Are you kidding me?! You erased me from your wedding!”

I calmly reminded her that she had demanded we delete every photo containing her.

“You didn’t want to be in them,” I said. “So I respected your wishes.”

She hung up.

When Nina came home, I expected her to be upset. Instead, she laughed.

“You actually stood up to her.”

Soon, Jenna’s parents and relatives began pressuring Nina to “keep the peace” and “be the bigger person.”

But Nina finally realized something.

She had spent years protecting Jenna, making excuses for her, and fixing problems she created.

“I should’ve stopped protecting her years ago,” Nina admitted.

For the first time, she stopped trying to manage her sister’s behavior—and simply let Jenna own the consequences of her choices.

And somehow, removing Jenna from the wedding photos became about much more than pictures.

It became the moment Nina finally stopped allowing her sister to control her life.
