I Heard Our Baby Crying While I Was in the Shower & My Wife Was Watching TV – When I Entered His Room, I Screamed in Shock

One night, I rushed from the shower to find my 3-year-old son crying, covered in red paint, while my wife sat glued to her iPad, seemingly indifferent. Frustrated, I cleaned him up and confronted her, but she dismissed my concerns. Feeling something was deeply wrong, I packed a bag and took our son to my sister’s house.

Desperate for answers, I called my mother-in-law. She spoke to my wife and revealed the truth: my wife was struggling with depression. She had lost herself in motherhood, abandoning her art and feeling trapped.

Realizing how much she was silently suffering, I chose to support her. She started therapy, and I began to understand the exhaustion she had faced alone. Slowly, she healed—reconnecting with her passion for painting and rebuilding her bond with our son.

Our family wasn’t perfect, but we were healing. Together.
