Our Granddaughter Accused Us of Being Cheap after Getting Our Wedding Present

An elderly couple, in their 70s, had a tradition of giving their grandkids a small wedding gift from their registry and a $40,000 check the day before their wedding. When their youngest granddaughter, Eloise, received an air fryer as the wedding gift, she accused them of being cheap. The couple, shocked by her disrespectful response, revealed they had planned to give her the $40,000, but decided against it due to her reaction.

Later, Eloise found out about the money and confronted them, accusing them of discrimination for not giving her the same gift. The couple explained they were disappointed by her lack of appreciation and respect. Eloise apologized but still demanded the money. She threatened to boycott Christmas, and her mother sided with her, calling the couple unreasonable.

Despite this, the couple stood firm, explaining that their decision was based on Eloise’s behavior, not the gift itself. They hoped this situation would be a learning experience about love and respect in their family.
