Woman Pushes Teen Bro To Change His Name In Order To Give It To Her Baby, Wants Him As A Nanny Too

My older sister (20F) recently had a baby with her husband, but I (16M) haven’t met my nephew yet, and honestly, I don’t really care to. However, my sister and parents want me to babysit for her every day after school until 11 PM so that her husband can work and she can have some time to herself. The problem is, I have a part-time job that I’d need to quit if I agreed to this, and honestly, my sister and I aren’t close. She’s always been mean to me, and our parents think she can do no wrong, especially now that she’s married and has a kid at 20, which they see as the ideal path for all of us.

To give you an idea of how bad our relationship is, my sister even asked me to change my name because she wanted to name her son Theo, but didn’t want to use my name. I refused, so she chose a different name and then called me a “waste of oxygen” for not letting her take the name.

A week ago, I was told I had to babysit, but when I said no, my parents sided with my sister. They argued that it would be good for me to spend time with my nephew. I pointed out that I wasn’t even allowed to meet him with the rest of the family, and they said it was because I’m in school and he’s a newborn. My sister also made it clear that she doesn’t even want me involved in her kid’s life—she told me her son would be told I’m just the babysitter, not an uncle, and that she doesn’t want people knowing we’re related.

The pressure is relentless. She won’t pay me, and my parents are making it clear they expect me to do this, threatening to force me to quit my job if I don’t agree. My sister calls me pathetic and useless, telling me I’m a mistake. Despite everything, I’m holding my ground, but they keep pushing, and it’s getting harder to ignore.
