A Woman Spoke Loudly on Speaker at a Restaurant, Stained My Mother’s Dress, and Just Said ‘Oops’—but I Wasn’t Letting That Slide

My mother and I were enjoying a rare dinner at a classy restaurant when a loud woman barged in, disrupting the atmosphere. She was speaking on her phone on speaker and laughing obnoxiously. While gesturing wildly, she accidentally flung marinara sauce onto my mother’s beautiful navy dress. When my mother quietly dabbed at the stain, the woman simply smirked and said, “Oops.”
I wasn’t having it. I threatened to spill my wine on her table, which got her attention. The woman dismissed me, but the manager stepped in, apologizing and offering dessert. He then told the woman to lower her voice or leave, and even covered the couple who moved away from her. Furious and embarrassed, the woman stormed out.
My mother, ever the calm one, chuckled. “Well, that was quite the dinner.” I raised my glass. “To karma.” We clinked our glasses, grateful for a little justice.
