MY FATHER NEVER LEFT A CLEAR WILL — NOW MY BROTHER WANTS TO KICK ME OUT OF THE HOUSE I GREW UP IN

So my dad always said, “Everything I have is for both of you, no need for lawyers or papers.” He hated drama. Trusted that we, his sons, would do the right thing.

Well… he passed away two months ago. No will. No testament. Just verbal promises and old memories.

I stayed in the house to take care of him those last two years. Quit my job. Did everything. My brother? He moved across the country, barely visited. But the moment the funeral was over, he showed up with a lawyer.

He said, “Dad never said this place was yours. We’re selling it. I want my half.”

I was stunned. “I lived here. I took care of everything!”

He shrugged. “That’s not on paper.”

Now I’m being forced to leave the house where we played as kids, where we buried our dog, where I held my father’s hand when he took his last breath.

All because dad trusted us too much to ever write anything down.
