A Brother’s Secret

When Harold died, I thought grief would be my hardest burden. But it was what he left behind that shook me—the secret hidden in his barn.

Harold had been my strongest brother, though pain had weakened him in the end. Before he passed, he asked me to stay on the farm and reach out to Ellison, his daughter, who didn’t know everything.

At the lawyer’s office, Ellison showed up cold and distant. The will left the farm to her—but only if I agreed. She offered me money to sign it away, threatening to make life unbearable if I refused.

She blamed me for driving Harold away, for stealing his love. But I only ever cared for him—and now, I was left with a choice: fight for the farm and the truth he trusted me with, or give it all up to keep peace.
