Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship has reportedly cooled, with sources saying they haven’t spoken in months. Tension allegedly began after Lively’s legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, which unexpectedly pulled Swift into the spotlight.
In early 2025, Baldoni claimed in court documents that Swift attended a film-related meeting at Lively’s NYC home. He also bizarrely alleged Lively referred to herself as “Khaleesi” and Swift as her “dragon.”
Though a subpoena for Swift was later dropped, sources say communication between the two stars ceased afterward. Fans speculate some tracks from Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, including “Ruin the Friendship,” may reference Lively.
Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni cites sexual harassment and a hostile work environment, naming several celebrities including Swift. PR emails revealed concerns over Swift’s fanbase being “activated” if the story went public.
The legal fallout also touched Ryan Reynolds, who reportedly blocked Baldoni and was accused of berating him over his treatment of Lively. Additional celebrities mentioned in documents include Hailey Bieber, Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, and Leighton Meester — all potentially linked to PR “scenario planning” to shift media narratives.
