After months of unpaid childcare and housework, Betty’s son-in-law crossed the line by demanding she watch the kids for an entire weekend — without even asking.

When they left for their trip, Betty packed up the kids and brought them to her house, leaving a note behind:
“Since you didn’t ask about my plans, I made my own. The kids are safe and having fun. See you Sunday evening!”
She turned off her phone and had a joyful weekend with her grandkids — baking, watching movies, and making memories.
When the parents returned to an empty house, panic set in. Her son-in-law was furious. Her daughter looked embarrassed. Betty calmly explained:
“If you can assume I’m free, I can assume you won’t mind where I take the kids.”
