The Glitter Revenge

For years, my mother-in-law mocked my makeup — too bold, too heavy, never “right.” I kept quiet, but her constant digs wore me down.
One family dinner, I decided to flip the script. I arrived with glittery eyeshadow, cartoon-pink blush, and lipstick brighter than a traffic light. As everyone stared, I pulled out an old photo of her in her twenties — dramatic eyeliner, red cheeks, and lipstick louder than mine.
I placed it on the table and said: “I guess I learned from the best.”
The room burst into laughter. For once, she had nothing to say.
That night, I didn’t just wear makeup — I wore my confidence.
