Blended Family Challenges: What I Learned at My Son’s Graduation #4

When my son graduated, I thought keeping his stepmother away would make the day “simpler.” My ex agreed, and I felt relieved.
🎓 The ceremony was beautiful—photos, tears, laughter. But at the end, my son quietly said:
“Mom, you’ll never understand how important it is for everyone I love to be included.”
His words struck me harder than anything else that day.
That evening, I called my ex and his wife. I apologized. We agreed to start small, to build respect—even if it wasn’t easy.
From that moment, I promised myself: my son’s happiness comes first. Always.
Because blended families aren’t about who’s “in” or “out.” They’re about showing grace… even when it hurts.
