My younger sister Kayla started walking around my husband in nothing but a towel and insisted it was a “test.”

Kayla moved in with her sister Amanda after a painful breakup. Soon, she began walking around the house in only a towel, claiming she was “testing” Amanda’s husband, Andrew.

Amanda repeatedly asked her to stop, but Kayla ignored her. Andrew refused to participate and simply left the room whenever Kayla appeared.

One Sunday, Andrew finally showed Kayla his phone. He had found several rooms for rent and told her that her stay with them needed to have an end date.

Kayla was embarrassed, but Amanda explained that the real problem wasn’t the towel—it was ignoring her boundaries.

Later, Kayla admitted she had been looking for proof that relationships always fail because her boyfriend had left her without cheating or doing anything wrong. She realized she had been using Andrew to make sense of her heartbreak.

Kayla apologized, agreed to work toward moving out, and stopped the “tests.” The next morning, she wore a robe, asked before using Andrew’s coffee, and reached the coffee filters herself.

For the first time, all three of them laughed.
