My Snooping MIL Thought She Was Exposing Me – but She Walked Right into the Trap I Set in My Closet

My mother-in-law has always been a bit… intrusive. She likes to think she knows everything about everyone — especially me. Lately, I caught on that she’s been snooping around, trying to find dirt or secrets to stir up trouble.
So, I decided to turn the tables.
Knowing she’d eventually wander into my closet when no one was around, I set a little trap. I planted some “evidence” — a fake diary with hilarious made-up stories, a couple of silly photoshopped pictures, and a note that said, “For curious eyes only. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”
Sure enough, last week she sneaked in while I was out. The next day, I caught her acting all flustered and trying desperately to act innocent. When I asked if she found anything juicy, she just stammered.
Later, I showed my husband the “diary” and we had a good laugh. My MIL might think she’s exposing me, but really, she’s just fallen right into my little game.
Sometimes, the best way to handle snoopers is with a little humor and a whole lot of cleverness.
