The Garlic Under the Pillow

Maya always struggled with restless nights. No matter what she tried—warm milk, meditation, soft music—she couldn’t sleep. One evening, her grandmother whispered a tip: “Place a clove of garlic under your pillow. It works wonders.”
Skeptical but desperate, Maya tried it. That night, she dreamt vividly but peacefully. By morning, her congestion had eased, and she felt strangely alert. Encouraged, she continued the practice. Weeks later, she noticed she was falling asleep faster, waking up refreshed, and even fewer mosquitoes bothered her windows at night.
One night, her neighbor peeked in, curious about the garlic aroma. Maya smiled and offered him a clove. “Try it,” she said. “Sometimes, the simplest things are the most powerful.”
And from that night on, their little block was quieter, healthier, and somehow more magical.
